Organized Chaos - Put a Fork in It, Kitchen Decor That’s Done

Jeann Kembangkhana

It’s been a long time since I had written a blog, a public blog at that. I thought its fitting that my first blog post in this series about since I love this prints so much and I basically live in my kitchen.

The kitchen prints are inspired by my love for cooking—and the occasional oops, forgot to defrost the chicken moment—they’re a mix of beauty and function.

1. Defrost Your Meat

This print is functional, especially for those who are working a full-time job while still needing to get their shit together at home (like me) or if you just can't handle being yelled at by your parents again to defrost your meat… then this is for you!

The safest way to defrost your meat is to leave it in the refrigerator after you took it out from the freezer, this way you are not shocking your meat with room temperature. You may also do so with cold water and submerge your meat, leave it and check regularly until it is properly defrosted.

The idea of the print is to remind you to do so because defrosting your meat takes a long time, whereas an 5 seconds act of pulling our your meat our of the freezer can save you the hassle.

2. Put Those Leftovers in the Fridge

I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I forgot to do this and have spoiled leftovers in the morning HUHU. So I thought this might be a great reminder, this is perfect for someone who cooks in large batches, who orders takeout, and someone who loves to eat the day-after curry (Lol Same).

The minute I became a wife, I ordered myself 2 packs of all-size Tupperware. I am not a meal-prep person, I am more of a food-prep person — I make food in big batches, store them in a freezer/fridge and eat my way through that for the whole week. So the Tupperware & this art come in handy to remind me. Especially for someone who works full-time, even if I work from home, I can’t excuse myself from cooking lunch for an hour every day, so food prepping with this poster as a reminder is the way to go for me.

3. Add More Garlic

Do I really have to explain myself for this poster? I am an Asian, Indonesian through and through — you will find Garlic in most of our food recipes and I cook with garlic most of the time. Add More Garlic is a reminder that it’s okay, add 1 or 2 more garlic cloves in there. Especially if you are someone like me, who just eyeball ingredients for every recipe— at the end of the day, Adding More Garlic is the way to go.

And I hope I don’t have to elaborate more on the many many health benefits of eating garlic, including reducing the risk of heart disease, blood pressure, and high cholesterol. Plus let’s be honest, any food with garlic is always delicious, at least to me and my palette.

Let’s be real… if your hobby is cooking (like me) then you would spend most of your time in the kitchen, and the kitchen is the heart of the home, and it deserves art that feeds the soul and reminds you to put the leftovers away. If you love them all, the set will be perfect for your kitchen!
