The Story Behind Here Till Sunday

To start from the beginning seems tedious, so I won’t bore you with so many details. Here Till Sunday was not Here Till Sunday before, it was Maude’s, Peggi’s, Jean’s or else. When I was in university, I loved doing what I did creatively, I excelled at it. The teachings were always, at least in my perspective, to guide students to work full-time elsewhere. But I had always wanted to strive down my path, even if I applied to SO MANY full-time jobs, I always had this comfortable feeling when I was working for myself and creative projects for myself. 8 years later, I successfully had my own graphic design practice and opened Here Till Sunday.
At first, I was just making Christmas cards for fun, which I would sell to friends. Soon after that, I thought this was fun—I have always loved working with print goods, and I seem to like anything tactile. Hence, the idea of making print goods started.
If you are a creative reading this, is there a turning point in your life where you find your niche? Whether that’s UX, Print, Animation or else?

This dream of mine, I bottled down because when I was living in England, I knew I was not going to live here for a long time, the time I had found this urge to start my own shop — I was always uncertain where would I end up. I didn’t want to start something and ended up carrying products across the globe because yet again I had to move.
Then, I knew that I wanted to open my shop. The next big hurdle was to find the right story to tell, as someone who has been working with marketing teams and a visual storyteller. I know how important it is to tell the right story. I grew up struggling with my identity, this is another story to tell to be frank. I had done my master's degree final art show on my identity growing up as a third-culture kid, and I loved that project because I finally was able to delve deeper into what that experience was and how I could creatively express that experience.
So there and then I knew that the story of home and belonging was a no-brainer for me. I spent such a long time curating every home that I had ever lived in, trying to create a home within a temporary place and I want to make products that are like that, easy to transport and capturing that moment in time when & where they purchased that item.
Alas Here Till Sunday is born, out of my love to create memorable products and the personal experience I know best at heart and experienced.
